Sankashti Chaturthi April 2024: Rituals Associated With Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat 

- From dawn till moonrise, devotees follow a rigorous fast, which they break only upon seeing the moon. The fast is a representation of self-control and devotion, showing the devotee's resolve to seek Lord Ganesha's blessings.

- The image of Lord Ganesha, is decked up with durva grass and scarlet flowers. His favourite dessert, modak, is served by devotees along with other traditional fare. To call upon the blessings of the God, special prayers and hymns are chanted.

- When the moon is seen, usually after sunset, the fast comes to an end. Prasad is consumed by devotees to break their fast, and it often consists of fruits, nuts, and the modak that was previously served.
