Every year, many notable local and international celebrities head to Makkah, Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, and 2023, so far, has been no different.

Renowned personalities such as former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, Pakistani actors and cricketers Meera, Saba Faisal, and Haris Rauf, among others, were seen performing the pilgrimage this year. They also shared pictures of their spiritual journey on their social media accounts, offering prayers and gratitude to everyone.

1. Meera

Film star Meera took to Instagram on Thursday to announce her completion of Umrah. She has shared numerous pictures to show her visit to Masjid-e-Nabawi and the holy Kaaba in Makkah. 'On March 29 2023, I prayed for all friends and those as well who are not friends yet," wrote the actor in one post.

2. Saba Faisal

In February, Faisal also uploaded a picture on Instagram to share her journey of performing Umrah. "Alhamdulillah, we performed our Umrah and left for Medina," wrote the former anchor, while sharing a picture with fellow actor Seemi Pashah.

Since then, every week, Faisal shares another picture to recall her visit to Saudi Arabia. "The visit for my one true love, why should I be proud of this destiny? 3rd Ramazan Mubarak to everyone," penned the Taqdeer star on Thursday, wishing her followers the best.

3. Sania Mirza

Former tennis player Mirza recently jetted off to the twin holy cities of Saudi Arabia with her family to perform Umrah. Taking to Instagram, the Indian athlete posted many photos and videos of herself, alongside her son, Izhaan Mirza Malik. "It has been the most amazing and fulfilling time here. May God call us back again and again," she captioned the post.

4 Babar Azam

Pakistani cricketer Azam also travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah in the holy month of Ramadan. The right-handed batsman shared a picture from Medina with his followers on Instagram. In the picture, the star player is seen standing in the courtyard of Masjid-e-Nabawi, a holy site that holds mighty importance to Muslims.

Similar to Azam, ace cricketer Rauf also announced his completion of Umrah on Thursday. "Alhamdullilah," he wrote on Instagram while sharing a photo of himself standing in front of the holy Kaaba, draped in traditional ihram, a two-piece white seamless garment.
